Not a Perfect Ten

Dasavatharam

At last, much hyped movie of the year was released on an inauspicious Friday the Thirteenth. My curiosity got better off me & had me to take sneak peek at the first day review. Few of them said it’s good & many said it’s not upto the hype.

Why many might have said so??

  1. Most irritating part of any Tamil movie is the graphics which, as usual is at its worst. Neither last year’s Sivaji nor the latest Kamal fare has any state of art graphics. Then what’s the purpose of being the costliest Tamil movies.
  1. Few Characters which Kamal should have avoided playing namely the Muslim youth, Japanese Martial arts instructor & centenarian lady. The unacceptable out of place makeup irritates you & isolates you from bonding with the proceeding.
  1. Few bad dialogue deliveries between Asin & Kamals at the hospital

Does it mean you should avoid Dasavatharam?

(Psst… I was a diehard Kamal fan in my school & college days)

Not really!! Provided you don’t crib or care about above the statements. Then what is in for me.

  1. Roller Coaster kind of adventurous story line on Chaos Theory, with some interesting characters & tight screenplay.
  2. Balaram Naidu! He tops my list because he makes sure that slapstick comedy lovers get their paisa vasool.
  3. George bush who touch your lighter vein with his one-liners
  4. Episode of Kulothuga Chozhan II suppressing Vaishnava-s and its connection with present generation story. Well it’s a good point to ponder after you watch the movie. Many of us (including me) will miss it out while watching.
  5. Poovaraghan the social activist, Fletcher the mercenary & Avatar Singh (just for Ho Ho Sanam Ho only) have their moments in the proceeding.

Btw is there any tribute to some earlier movies?

(Polite way of saying plagiarization)

Of course!! I can spot two scenes one from Da Vinci Code & Tomorrow never Dies

Anything for Disappointed Kamal Fans:-

Remember Panchatantiram, many in my college didn’t like it initially.

Today I guess many own their copy of DVD or don ’t miss it when it’s on TV.

Forget the scientific flaws! This film might grow in you after the hype hangover subsidizes for its sequence of event & core essence.

Anything for Disappointed Science Lover:-

Try Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: Space Odyssey

What’s the Bottom-line!!

Entertaining & sure Time pass! However I would have preferred Panchavataram & bit more finesse in Dialogues

(For100 Rupees ticket, I got a 75 Rupees worth movie)

Class seems to be bit outclass

Lets wait for the Promising Pro : Vaaranam Ayiram
